Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We have compiled the most important information about VIN checks, report scope, and order processing.

Preliminary vehicle verification by VIN / license plate number is free. We will check the vehicle in multiple databases and provide free information on whether there are any registered damage records for the vehicle. You only pay if you want the details.

The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique identifier assigned to a vehicle used for its identification. The VIN can be found in one or several of the following places:

  • Registration certificate: The VIN is a 17-character string displayed as the chassis number in the registration document.
  • Vehicle windshield: In a small window at the lower corner of the windshield on the driver's side. Depending on the manufacturer and model, it may appear together with a barcode for electronic reading of the chassis number.
  • VIN identification plate: Depending on the manufacturer, brand, and vehicle type, it may be located in one of many places: in the engine, in the trunk, under the passenger seat, on the door pillar, on the frame of an off-road vehicle.
  • Vehicle documents: You can also find the chassis number in other vehicle documents such as: purchase invoice, vehicle inspection documents, repair invoice, vehicle purchase agreement, homologation, etc.

Information on damages, accidents, repairs, or other events is continuously collected across many IT systems. Their publication in sources available in the report usually occurs with a delay. The timeliness and completeness of the data in the report are not guaranteed. It may also happen that data was incorrectly recorded at the source, and unfortunately, our report replicates such an error, which we cannot verify. Therefore, our system and the vehicle reports obtained from it should be treated only as an auxiliary tool for assessing the history and condition of a given vehicle, and the actual current state of the vehicle and its documents should always be directly examined, especially before making a purchase decision.

Yes. Our databases cover Europe and the USA.

The report will be displayed on screen immediately after payment confirmation for the order. You will be able to return to it on any computer or mobile device for at least 30 days by entering only the order number. You will find this number on the payment confirmation you receive from the payment operator.

No. The report helps you check the vehicle’s history and possible past incidents, but it does not replace a technical inspection or a test drive. It is best to treat it as an additional tool before purchase.

No. Checking the VIN and purchasing a report does not require creating an account, unless the current process on the website provides extra features for logged-in users.

The report may include information on damages, repair costs, mileage, country of incident, damage locations, risk level, and other available records related to the vehicle, if they are present in the data sources.

Yes — a UK number plate is enough. We'll find the vehicle without the VIN, and before you buy the report you'll see for free whether we hold damage records for it.
